Meet Your Attorney
Joshua Votaw spent nearly fifteen years as General Counsel for New York City real estate companies before founding The Votaw Law Firm. He's built legal departments from the ground up, managed portfolios of hundreds of cases, and represented clients in state and federal courts across every stage of litigation — from contract negotiation to trial to appeal.
Joshua began his legal career clerking for the Chief District Judge and Chief Magistrate Judge of a United States District Court. He continues to serve as a volunteer judge-arbitrator in New York City's small claims courts.
Now based in the Hudson Valley, Joshua serves on the Board of Directors of the Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce. He will begin pursuing his Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation at Georgetown University in the fall. He received his Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University.
When he's not practicing law, Joshua enjoys hiking and travel. In 2023, he hiked over 1,000 miles of New Zealand's Te Araroa Trail — a three-month trek spanning the length of the country.
